High-level study tour on environmental governance and environmental law enforcement

The SGEP Project organised a study tour from 17-21 September for a high-level Chinese government delegation to Germany on the topic of environmental governance and environmental law enforcement. The delegation was led by Mr Chen Chunjiang, the Deputy Chief Inspector of the Communist Party of China’s (CPC) Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) and the Deputy Chief Supervisor of the SSC Supervisor’s Office at the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE). Other delegation members included representatives from the MEE, the China Research Academy of Environmental Sciences (CRAES) and China Environment News.

During the tour, the delegation studied and discussed Germany’s legal system and anti-corruption mechanisms, as well as current trends and challenges of environmental governance.

Virtual seminar for the preparation of a sustainable COP

As a follow-up of the Sino-German Workshop on Green COP held on  October 28, 2019, the Environmental Partnership Project organised a virtual seminar on the preparation of a sustainable COP for the members of the Chinese Committee for the preparation of the CBD COP-15 on the 9th of March. The opening speech from German side was held by Ms. Inka Gnittke, Head of Division – International Cooperation on Biodiversity and CBD National Focal Point (BMU).
