Forum on 2021 City Energy Internet Industry Development

The Changzhou Development and Reform Commission together with the GRID Changzhou Branch and with the support of GIZ Jiangsu Project held the Forum on City Energy Internet Industry Development in Changzhou City on 17 June 2021. The purpose of the event was to further improve the integration of energy industry and the internet, big data, and artificial intelligence as well as providing clean, low carbon, safe, and high efficient energy support for Changzhou to be developed as an international smart manufacturing city and a center of Yangtze Delta area, and to keep Changzhou as a city leading high quality development.

The forum focused on green and low carbon development and prioritizing energy efficiency, and was aimed at aggregating energy internet talents, technologies, information and funds through experts’ presentation, planning publicity, projects signing, cooperation negotiation, achievements exhibition, etc. It further sought to foster new technologies, new products, new industries and new development modes in the energy sector, and to establish the energy internet as the new engine for city energy transition and industry restructuring as well as a new advantage for economic development. Thus, the forum supported the national goal of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

The forum invited experts and scholars from China Energy Association, Tsinghua University, and Jiangsu Engineering Consulting Center to share their expertise on approaches to carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, the new energy development and energy internet construction, the trend of energy development, and measures for energy security.

More than 180 representatives  from local government departments, energy internet enterprises, key energy consumption enterprises, renewable energy enterprises, and relevant social organizations attended the event.

Extension of Jiangsu Project Phase III

The “Supporting the Low Carbon Development of Jiangsu Province Phase III” project has been extended on a cost neutral basis to 30 April 2023 to finalise all indicators for achieving its overall goal. The extension application was approved officially by BMWK on 1 February 2023.
