Research on the Effect of Total Energy Consumption Control on Economic and Social Transformation and Upgrading and Related Measures

In recent years, China has strengthened its energy carbon emission control targets both with regards to the total amount and the intensity of energy consumption to ensure that by 2020, the energy consumption per unit of GDP would decrease by 15% compared to 2015, and the total energy consumption would be controlled within 5 billion tons of coal equivalent. Although Jiangsu Province has made a lot of progress in controlling its energy consumption, a systemic research study was carried out to address the lack of in-depth experience on this topic at the provincial level.

Supported by GIZ Jiangsu Project, the Jiangsu Engineering Consulting Center has completed a thematic study on the Effect of Total Energy Consumption Control on Economic and Social Transformation and Upgrading and Related Measures from December 2019 to April 2020 and submitted the following six reports:

1. Effect of total energy consumption control on economic and social transformation and upgrading,
2. International and domestic practical experience in total energy consumption control,
3. Retrospective analysis and forecast of energy consumption in Jiangsu Province,
4. Research on the primary tasks of Jiangsu Province in total energy consumption control,
5. Research on the policy system of Jiangsu Province for total energy consumption control,
6. Key measures for total energy consumption control.
