Chinese-German Soil Workshop

A workshop focusing on the topic of Soil Survey was organized by the Sino-German Environmental Partnership and the Foreign Economic Cooperation Office (FECO) of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE). It took place on November 5th, 2018 and was a follow-up activity to a previous workshop in June 2018. Dr. Bernd Bussian, environmental consultant who previously worked for the German Environment Agency (UBA) was invited to the workshop in order to introduce German experiences in soil survey and soil data interpretation as well as management. Furthermore, the workshop was a great opportunity to exchange ideas with Chinese soil professionals.

During the workshop, Dr. Bernd M. Bussian held presentations on the topics – “How to derive legal soil values – precautionary values – by use of empirical data”, “How to use data from given soil survey and how to design dedicated problem-oriented soil surveys” and “State of the Art Techniques of Mapping, Monitoring and Modeling Soil Pollution: A Case Study of German Soils”. Virtual seminar for the preparation of a sustainable COP

As a follow-up of the Sino-German Workshop on Green COP held on  October 28, 2019, the Environmental Partnership Project organised a virtual seminar on the preparation of a sustainable COP for the members of the Chinese Committee for the preparation of the CBD COP-15 on the 9th of March. The opening speech from German side was held by Ms. Inka Gnittke, Head of Division – International Cooperation on Biodiversity and CBD National Focal Point (BMU).
