China’s State Council approves ETS allocation plan

April 19, 2018 – The State Council of China has approved an allocation plan for the trial emissions trading system for the power sector. Although specific details are not yet available, this step is seen as a milestone in the development of the national ETS, as experiences from the trial are going to play an important role in the design of the system.
