April 30, 2018 – In the first quarter of the year, the energy intensity of China’s GDP has declined by 3.2 percent, as reported by the Chinese National Bureau of Statistics. Thereby the current development is continuing to outpace the national target of 3 percent average annual reduction. At the same time, the share of coal in overall energy production has fallen by 1.8 percent at the same time, while the usage of natural gas has increased.
