Coordination meeting between the NDCI project and NCSC

On 10 December 2021, a project coordination meeting between the NDCI project team and NCSC was held. Participants were Mr. Steffen MENZEL, Mr. GAO Xiang and other team members from GIZ and NCSC. Both sides discussed the project progress in 2021 and expressed satisfaction with the project activities. Some delays due to pandemic and financing agreement-related challenges were noted. Further points on the agenda were the NDCI project’s work plan for 2022, branding and publication of future products as well as the working mode with local partners. A follow-up meeting was planned to further discuss the work plan for 2022.

Exchanges on climate modelling with partners from Inner Mongolia

After the first workshop on modelling concepts with representatives of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region took place on December 15 2021 and a follow-up exchange was held in early 2022, Climate Analytics Australia (CAA), the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC) and the GIZ NDC Implementation project organized further workshops in the course of April, May and June 2022. Further events and cooperation are planned throughout 2022.

Adaptation work package quarterly exchange meeting on April 28

On April 28, 2022, experts and implementation partners from the National Centre for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC), The Chinese Academy for Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Climate Analytics (CA) and GIZ came together to discuss current issues concerning climate adaptation in China and the corresponding project work.
