Coordination meeting between the NDCI project and NCSC

On 10 December 2021, a project coordination meeting between the NDCI project team and NCSC was held. Participants were Mr. Steffen MENZEL, Mr. GAO Xiang and other team members from GIZ and NCSC. Both sides discussed the project progress in 2021 and expressed satisfaction with the project activities. Some delays due to pandemic and financing agreement-related challenges were noted. Further points on the agenda were the NDCI project’s work plan for 2022, branding and publication of future products as well as the working mode with local partners. A follow-up meeting was planned to further discuss the work plan for 2022.

Workshop strengthens Gender Mainstreaming within IKI Projects

Mainstreaming gender practices and gender justice has become a key aspect of project implementation. The German government’s International Climate Initiative (IKI), has recognized gender justice as a central element to address the nexus between climate change, biodiversity loss, and gender. To further strengthen the implementation of gender mainstreaming within IKI Projects in China, speakers from the IKI Office, the research institute Chatham House, and GIZ’S IKI projects held an exchange on its relevance in a Gender Capacity Building Workshop on 29 February 2024.
