Three ministries released “Implementation Plan on Accelerating the Construction of a Unified and Regulated Statistics and Accounting System”

On 19 August 2022, the National Development Reform Committee (NDRC), National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) and Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) jointly released the “Implementation Plan on Accelerating the Construction of a Unified and Regulated Statistics and Accounting System.” It aims to establish a unified and standardized statistical accounting system of GHG emissions and provides reliable data support by 2025, so as to ensure the achievement of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality targets on time.

National Innovative Pilot City of Xuzhou on Sustainable Development Agenda

The Jiangsu Project was invited to Xuzhou – a city in the northwest of Jiangsu Province in the border area to Anhui, Henan and Shandong Province –for a field visit. During the visit a potential cooperation concerning the creation of a national innovative pilot city on sustainable development agenda was discussed.

Exchanges on climate modelling with partners from Inner Mongolia

After the first workshop on modelling concepts with representatives of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region took place on December 15 2021 and a follow-up exchange was held in early 2022, Climate Analytics Australia (CAA), the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC) and the GIZ NDC Implementation project organized further workshops in the course of April, May and June 2022. Further events and cooperation are planned throughout 2022.

Sino-German Industry Workshop on Waste Recycling

In order to deepen the exchange between the Jiangsu Province and the federal state Baden-Württemberg in the field of waste management, the TRENT (Transnational Competence Center for Environmental Technology and Research Jiangsu Baden-Württemberg) held the Sino-German Industry Workshop on Waste Recycling on Wednesday, May 25 2022 online.
