2022 City Energy Internet Industry Development Forum in Changzhou

In order to further study the importance of “energy internet” in promoting the realization of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality, the 2022 City Energy Internet Industry Development Forum was held by the Changzhou Development and Reform Commission, the State Grid Changzhou, and the Jiangnan Rural Commercial Bank on November 10, 2022. Nearly 300 people from government departments, social organizations, energy enterprises and financial institutions participated in the forum. The forum also explored ways to further enhance the energy development motivation and the energy industry vitality as well as strategies to accelerate Changzhou’s building of a “new energy city.” Potential pathways for energy transformation, energy conservation and emission reduction, financial empowerment, etc. were discussed.

This forum focused on green and low carbon energy internet. SHEN Jiong , former Vice President of Southeast University, WANG Su, Chief Engineer of State Grid Jiangsu Electric Power Co., Ltd., BIN Hui, Deputy General Manager of Shanghai Environmental Energy Exchange, HU Qiying, Director of GIZ Jiangsu Low Carbon Project, LAI Li, Deputy Director of Jiangsu Strategy and Development Research Center, QIAN Feng, the Chief Operating Officer of carbon finance of Shanghai Bingheng Investment Management Co., Ltd. as well as other experts and scholars from universities and institutions presented various topics. Presentations included the application of comprehensive energy technology, the development of low carbon and new energy in Germany, the implementation path of carbon peaking in Changzhou, and the construction and operation of carbon finance platform. Representatives and guests had in-depth exchanges on energy internet construction and green financial services to promote carbon peaking and neutrality.

Extension of Jiangsu Project Phase III

The “Supporting the Low Carbon Development of Jiangsu Province Phase III” project has been extended on a cost neutral basis to 30 April 2023 to finalise all indicators for achieving its overall goal. The extension application was approved officially by BMWK on 1 February 2023.
