On December 23, 2022, the Disaster Risk and Insurance Academic Lecture of Nankai University and the Disaster Reduction Lecture of Beijing Normal University jointly organized the first virtual academic workshop on the topic ‘Addressing climate change and carbon transition risk: synergy development of transition finance and insurance.’
The workshop mainly focused on the theoretical issues such as climate change risk, “carbon transition” risk and transition finance and insurance synergy in the three major fields of disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate change adaptation (CCA) and sustainable development goals (SDG). Further, it highlighted the increasing demand for solutions to systemic risks associated with climate change risk.
More than 80 participants attended the workshop. Mr. LI Yinpeng from CLIMsystems gave the presentation “Practices and Exploration of Company Climate Change Disclosure during Carbon Transition” and introduced climate change and ESG disclosure guidance for companies in China, which was financed by Jiangsu Low Carbon Development project.
