Expert Evaluation Workshop on the “Report on the History and Achievements of Ten Years of Low-carbon Development and Combatting Climate Change in Jiangsu”

In order to gain a better understanding of the Jiangsu Provinces development in low-carbon development over the past ten years, the Jiangsu Strategy and Development Research Center was commissioned by GIZ to write a report. On April 29 2022, the Expert Evaluation Workshop on the “Report on the History and Achievements of Ten years of Low-carbon Development and Combatting Climate Change in Jiangsu” was held in Nanjing. Representatives from the Jiangsu Department of Ecology and Environment as well as the research team from the Jiangsu Strategy and Development Research Center introduced the project background and its achievements. Relevant experts were invited to evaluate the report. The report summarizes the provinces’ development in the fields of low-carbon advancement and climate change mitigation and adaptation over the past ten years. The aim of the report is to, by better understanding the progress of past efforts, support future work on climate change and carbon emissions peaking in Jiangsu. Originally, the reported was planned to be presented during the UNFCCC COP 26 in Glasgow, Scotland, but was delayed due to the COVID pandemic.
