Jiangsu Sino-German Low Carbon Networking: Dual-Carbon Forum No. 1

On May 20 2022, the GIZ Jiangsu Project held the first in a series of forums on Low Carbon Networking in Nanjing. The participants of the forum were given introductions of the province’s interpretation of the carbon emissions as well as carbon neutrality policies. Mr. CHEN Yuehua from the Jiangsu Department for Ecology and Environment was invited as the key speaker. In his talk he clarified questions in regard to the planning and action plans both on national and provincial levels and introduced the implementation plans for the key sectors (energy, industry, transportation, building, agriculture, urban area and industrial park pilots). Questions from the audience revolved around specific policy implementation measures.

Various stakeholders from low-carbon and climate change related institutes in Jiangsu participated in the forum. It is planned to organize one forum every quarter, the next being scheduled for August 2022.

Extension of Jiangsu Project Phase III

The “Supporting the Low Carbon Development of Jiangsu Province Phase III” project has been extended on a cost neutral basis to 30 April 2023 to finalise all indicators for achieving its overall goal. The extension application was approved officially by BMWK on 1 February 2023.
