Globally, youth have the potential to play a key role in climate protection. They must deal with the consequences of today’s actions and those from previous generations, while becoming the change-makers of tomorrow. Therefore this briefing paper aims to shed light on the current situation of youth in climate action in China, introducing the climate risks that young people (will) face, their perceptions and knowledge of climate change, as well as supporting policies and empowering initiatives. It will also briefly display youth engagement in climate action in Germany, illustrating the diversity of youth involvement in other countries.
