The working paper “Progress and Prospects of Transitioning away from Fossil Fuels to Reach Net-Zero Climate Goals in China and Germany” was created by a joint Chinese and German expert team which is part of the Sino-German Track II Dialogue on Climate Change and Sustainable Development. It examines how China and Germany are addressing the urgent need to transition away from or phasing out of fossil fuels by analyzing their experiences, strategies, challenges, and solutions. This study aims to provide insights into the opportunities of transitioning to sustainable energy systems, offering lessons that extend far beyond their borders.
