From 10 to 16 September 2023, the Urban-Act project hosted an Indonesian delegation on low-carbon transportation planning in China in collaboration with the Trico Fund. During its stay, the delegation made on-site visits in Xiamen, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou.
On 5 September 2023, the Ministry of Natural Resources (MNR) issued the ‘Work Plan for the Construction of the National Territorial Spatial Planning Implementation Monitoring Network (2023-2027)’, to support the “digitisation” and “networking” to realize “intelligent” life cycle management of territorial spatial planning.
On 24 August 2023, a hybrid virtual exchange meeting was organized by the Urban-Act project on the topic of institutional arrangements in climate services, upon the request of the Thai Meteorological Department (TMD).
On 15 August 2023, the MNR’s China Land Surveying and Planning Institute released the ‘Blue Book on Ecological Protection Red Lines (2023)’.
On 2 August 2023, the Urban-Act project’s China component and the Fund for Triangular Cooperation, both GIZ projects, joined forces to co-host an exchange and capacity building workshop on climate-friendly transport policy in Semarang, Indonesia.
On 1 August 2023, as part of the ASEAN Mayors Forum in Jakarta, Indonesia, a parallel session titled “Building Resilient Cities and Climate Action” featured speakers from the Urban-Act project’s country partners in China, the Philippines, and Indonesia.
On 26 July, the first implementation workshop of the Urban-Act China component was held in Beijing, bringing together eight representatives from all four implementation partners of the project based in Shanghai, Beijing and Xi’an.
The regional kick-off workshop for the IKI regional project “Urban-Act: Integrated Urban Climate Action for Low-Carbon & Resilient Cities” was successfully held in Bangkok from 20 to 24 March 2023. The workshop was hosted by Urban-Act secretary and GIZ Thailand office with almost 70 participates.
