On 11 October, GIZ, together with Jiangsu Ecology and Environment Department, announced the launch of Jiangsu Low Carbon Development Project Phase III at the International Summit of New Technology for Ecology and Environment 2019. Project Director Ms Hu Qiying presented the achievements of project phases I and II, and the priorities of Phase III, including both technical and capacity-building support to contribute to the early peaking of Jiangsu’s CO2 emissions. Relevant government departments and institutes participated in the event and contributed to discussions on the topics of climate change policies, challenges and opportunities, the co-benefits of managing GHG and air pollutants as well as carbon market development.
