The launch ceremony for the pilot project on climate change education in Jiangsu Province was held on 11 June in the Wujin district of Changzhou city. Representatives from the Jiangsu Ecology and Environment Department, the GIZ Jiangsu Project, the Changzhou Education International Exchange Association, the Sino Carbon Education Consulting Co., as well as schools from several cities participated in the event.

In the context of the 30-60 targets, Jiangsu Province will initiate the education on climate change in the form of a curriculum that will be integrated into daily school education gradually.
Ms WANG Hua, Division Chief from Jiangsu Ecology and Environment Department, announced the official launch of this pilot project and proposed relevant further actions. She emphasized that education was the key to address climate change and achieving global sustainable development, especially in the context of the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals. Therefore, it would be crucial to carry out climate change education to foster corresponding young talents, WANG said.
