July 17, 2018 – During the 20th EU-China summit, Brussels and Beijing signed a strategic partnership including a renewed commitment to carbon market cooperation, while the joint statement of the summit also mentioned the recently launched second phase of the EU-China ETS cooperation project. Some commentators saw these steps as a further sign of China’s commitment to the development of its national ETS.
