On August 16, 2022 the Climate Investment and Finance Association (CIFA) and the Ecology and Environment Bureau of Xixian New Area hosted the Shaanxi Provincial Climate Investment and Finance Symposium.
On August 1, 2022, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), and Ministry of Ecology and Environment (MEE) jointly released the implementation plan for carbon peaking in the industrial sector.
On June 27, 2022, the party committee and government of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region issued the plan for the implementation of “1+N” policy.
After the first workshop on modelling concepts with representatives of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region took place on December 15 2021 and a follow-up exchange was held in early 2022, Climate Analytics Australia (CAA), the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC) and the GIZ NDC Implementation project organized further workshops in the course of April, May and June 2022. Further events and cooperation are planned throughout 2022.
On 12 May team members from NCSC, NCI, CA, and the GIZ, organized a technical workshop on climate governance in China and Germany.
On April 28, 2022, experts and implementation partners from the National Centre for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation (NCSC), The Chinese Academy for Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Climate Analytics (CA) and GIZ came together to discuss current issues concerning climate adaptation in China and the corresponding project work.
The press conference held on April 07, 2022, by the Shandong Provincial Government Information Office was led by Mr. DING Shaomin, Director of the Second Press Division of the Provincial Party Committee.
In the first weeks of the new year, the Track-2-Dialogue (T2D) working groups 1 to 4 dealt with the content-related and organisational re-orientation of their fields of work.
The second Steering Committee Meeting of the Sino-German Cooperation on Climate Change (SGCCC) took place on 24 March in a hybrid setting.
The workshop was opened by Dr GAO Xiang from NCSC and Mr Steffen MENZEL of the GIZ NDC Implementation project who also introduced the participants from NCSC, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (CAAS), Tsinghua University, Beijing Normal University, and Climate Analytics (CA).
