The Jiangsu Project was invited to Xuzhou – a city in the northwest of Jiangsu Province in the border area to Anhui, Henan and Shandong Province –for a field visit. During the visit a potential cooperation concerning the creation of a national innovative pilot city on sustainable development agenda was discussed.
In order to deepen the exchange between the Jiangsu Province and the federal state Baden-Württemberg in the field of waste management, the TRENT (Transnational Competence Center for Environmental Technology and Research Jiangsu Baden-Württemberg) held the Sino-German Industry Workshop on Waste Recycling on Wednesday, May 25 2022 online.
On May 20 2022, the GIZ Jiangsu Project held the first in a series of forums on Low Carbon Networking in Nanjing.
In order to gain a better understanding of the Jiangsu Provinces development in low-carbon development over the past ten years, the Jiangsu Strategy and Development Research Center was commissioned by GIZ to write a report.
On April 15 2022, a training workshop on climate and environment risk disclosures was held online.
During a planning workshop on the Dual-Carbon Piloting School for Jiangsu Province, held on 04 March, it was jointly agreed to initiate the development of dual-carbon piloting school standards and a low carbon and environment protection curriculum and piloting for preschool education.
On 25 February, a brainstorm seminar on the establishment of the Nanjing Carbon Neutral Building Research Center took place. The proposed research center is authorized by the Nanjing Science and Technology Bureau and will be established by the Nanjing Second Architectural Design Institute. Relevant experts from research institutes, universities and enterprises, as well as from the Jiangsu Project participated in the seminar to make suggestions for the establishment and development of the research center.
On 07 January, an expert review workshop for the GIZ-commissioned research on the carbon peaking roadmap of Yancheng city was held in Nanjing.
An expert team consisting of the Jiangsu Department of Ecology and Environment, the GIZ Jiangsu Project together with other institutes paid a field visit to Liyang for consultation on creating Liyang High Tech District into the smart dual carbon demonstration site on 28 December 2021.
